Nigeria is set to host the African Industrial and Development Ceremony and Awards (AIDCA) which highlight and acknowledges the strides of industry leaders from the wide-ranging sectors and specialisms across the continent.

The event, scheduled to hold on September 8 and 9, 2022, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja, Nigeria, will feature global thought leaders to share ideas, discuss the newest trends in development, economic issues and experiences from across different countries on the continent.

A statement signed and made available by the conference director, Aisha Salisu, said the event was organised by Dotmount Communications Group, in collaboration with Yahoo Finance, the Associated Press, and The Times of Jerusalem.

Salisu also announced the call for entries for nominations for the two-day event.

The conference, theme: “Enabling Transformation In The Digital Economy”, offers concrete, innovative and actionable solutions, champions private sector growth, leads discussions around game-changing public policies and advocates for best growth-oriented practices to help the continent move forward, build resilient companies and develop outstanding CEOs.

The conference director said the focus of the discussion will be on the overarching strategies Africa’s policymakers and businesses should adopt to keep pace with the changing world.

She said the keynote is expected to be delivered by the former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama.

Other speakers include Ahmed Sultan Bin Sulayem, executive chairman of Dubai Multi Commodities Center DMCC, Ms Samuela ISOPI, European Union Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Dr Remi Duyile, former Vice President of Bank of America, Afolabi Oke managing director, Global Infoswift Technologies, Babatunde Fowler, former Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Nayla Al Khaja, first female film director and producer in the United Arab Emirates and Felix Achibiri Chairman/CEO, DFC Holdings among others.

“The African Industrial and Development Awards, an initiative that celebrates the achievements and recognises the contributions of outstanding business executives, companies, religion and traditional leaders and working professionals that are driving the economy forward through their professions, innovations, technologies, and strategies,” she said.

Speaking further, she said while the conversations are the major focus of the forum, showcasing and celebrating the outstanding and exemplary work of individuals and organisations has become an essential pathway to reinforcing possibilities that abound on the continent.

“This summit presents an opportunity to further the conversations and network around the shared values of progress, development, and advancement for our continent,” she added.
