NAPSA To Lead the National Adult Protective Services Training Center (NATC)

hThe Administration for Community Living(ACL) has selected the National Adult Protective Services Association(NAPSA) to be the first ever National Adult Protective Services Training Center.

The National Adult Protective Services Association (NAPSA) is pleased to announce the award of a $1.5 million two-year cooperative agreement from the U.S. Administration for Community Living (ACL). NAPSA is a leader in the development and dissemination of training for Adult Protective Services programs nationwide. The new training center is an exciting next step in APS support. We look forward to working with national, state, and local partners and APS programs to make the National Adult Protective Services Training Center a success. The new Center will create an e-learning platform to provide practical, relevant, and consistent APS training for staff nationwide. Training development will be informed by APS programs from the work to administrator levels to ensure that training meets the needs of the field and are accessible. The NATC will ensure that critical trainings around equity, racial justice, and equal opportunity are provided and APS staff have the tools they need to support all clients, especially underserved populations.

NAPSA Executive Director, Jennifer Spoeri, remarked “We are excited to expand on current APS training and meet the needs of workers nationwide. The nation and the populations APS serves are diverse. The National Adult Protective Services Training Center is an important step towards equipping APS workers to meet the needs of their communities.”
