Spaces Renewed Donates Renovation Services For The Church Of Calvary Chapel Living Hope—Downtown Oceanside, California
OCEANSIDE, San Diego County, June 16, 2020 – Spaces Renewed of Oceanside, CA, a leading construction company for residential home renovation and design, are donating their services to renovate the church of Calvary Chapel Living Hope (CCLH).
Spaces Renewed is a husband-and-wife-owned design, renovation, and home-build firm owned by Marshall and Beth Booth, who are members and participating leaders in the organization. The Booths will be donating an estimated $150,000 in design and construction services to the projected total of $250,000 to remodel the historic Oceanside community church originally built in 1868. The long-overdue renovation is essential to providing community long-overdue services in the form of feeding the homeless and food pantry provisions, free drug and alcohol counseling, free wedding hosting, free marriage, and family counseling, free housing for college interns and a location to hold community events.
Additional discounts, donations, and labor support have been provided by manufacturers including Kohler, Delta, Dal-Tile, many local skilled laborers, private donors, and even competitive churches in the area who have rallied to support this historic building’s major renovation efforts.
Designer Beth Booth stated, “To keep in line with the history of the building, we are using materials that have a vintage appeal, but with a modern flair and aesthetic. We’re also using elements that have a coastal vibe since we’re so close to the beach. Regarding the infrastructure, we are doing an entire top to bottom overhaul. The church will be outfitted with all of the modern advances that technology offers—internet and audio/video will be operated via our new ‘control center’ and ran throughout every room and classroom. The remodeled main sanctuary will have a new feature wall, lighting, office space for the pastoral staff, a conference room, and more space for college and specialty classes plus five majorly expanded bathrooms. CCLH has been my home church for 25 years. I have grown up here, served here, got married here, and met all of my closest friends here. When it came time, as a business, to pick our next charity endeavor, our family was excited to have Living Hope be our labor of love.”
Pastor Brad Lambert, who also serves as the Oceanside Fire Chaplain for the past ten years, said, “Our new church will be big enough to offer all of the programs, prayer groups, kids ministry and serving opportunities that a big church has to offer—but small enough to know everyone and build real, lasting, deep relationships and friendships.”
Beyond the structural and extensive floor plan renovations, the redesign includes many upgrades to help the organization provide services through the COVID period and beyond. The renovations will provide the ability for streaming live feeds as well as many technical and audio/visual improvements that will be utilized when members can resume in-person gatherings.
The church provides a unique community gathering place that encompasses the entire range of the Oceanside demographic, and socioeconomic status, race, and culture. The church will have a 300-member capacity and is expected to be re-opened this summer.
